Apple iPhone Review Info

This little phone, capping literally years and years of speculation on the most heavily followed and unconfirmed product reports in Apple's history (and there haven't been any mobile or cell phones in Apples history) -- and that's saying a lot -- the Apple iPhone has been announced recently.

Yes, we said it: "The Apple iPhone," the name itself, the entire world had all but unanimously given the new Apple device from the time it'd been nothing more than a blueprint (the name iPhone which was previously held by Cisco Systems).

The amazing specs of the 11.6 millimeter device (that's very, very thin, by the way) include a 3.5-inch 480 x 320 touchscreen display with multi-touch support and a proximity sensor to turn off the screen, touch and drag and, 2 megapixel cam, optional 4GB or 8 GB of storage, Bluetooth 2.0 with EDR and A2DP, inbuilt WiFi that automatically engages itself when in range, and a full featured (Cell) quad-band GSM radio with EDGE. Of course, though, the Apple iPhone runs Max OS X with support for Widgets, Google Maps, and Safari, and iTunes with CoverFlow out of the gate.

An Apple partnership with Yahoo will allow all Apple iPhone customers to hook up with free push IMAP email builds. Apple also quotes 5 hours of battery life for talk , video, with a full 16 hours in iPod music mode .

The 4GB iPhone will sell in the US as a Cingular exclusive for $499 on a two-year contract, 8GB for $599.

Ships Stateside in June, Europe in fourth quarter, Asia in 2008.

Soon we will put the Apple iPhone against the new Nokia n95 and give you the low down on which PDA phone is the outright winner.
